Abstract

In this article the author started from the analysis of the Cartesian equations of Descartes' folium and a straight line of the plane considered as axis to deduce that of the surface of revolution generated by this curve. At the end of this study, after having established the implicit Cartesian equation of this surface, he endeavored to present the following results: the equations of the tangent plane and the normal at a point, those of different meridians, as well as the first fundamental quadratic form of this surface.
